Space Systems/Loral manufactured
and launched the Japanese Multi-functional Transport Satellite (MTSAT) on
February 26, 2005. MTSAT is a dual mission satellite for the Japanese Ministry
of Transport and the Japan Meteorological Agency performing an air traffic
control and navigation function as well as a meteorological function. ONE has
been selected to support the in-orbit testing of the primary meteorological
imaging instrument as well as instrument commissioning and ground operation
support. |
