Embedded Linux
OS
ONE applies the Linux operating system for a flexible open source
solution. Using Linux eliminates the issues with proprietary license
based software solutions. Drivers for new hardware will be developed as
the hardware become available. Additionally, users may develop
applications to run in the embedded real time environment using widely
available compilers and software development tools. |
Robust
Architecture
The ONEuP boots from a local compact flash disk. The Real time OS is
extracted from the flash each time the system boots and a fresh file
system is created in RAM at each start-up. No file system corruptions
can occur in the ONEuP! All configuration data is saved on non-volatile
Flash in the XML configuration files. |
 |
I/O Flexibility
The ONEuP may be configured with numerous custom and industry standard I/O
devices. Various forms of RF, serial, parallel, lvds, fiber optic, analog
bi-polar and differential analog are supported. High density I/O is available
with the capability to host as many as 18 multi-channel I/O cards in some
configurations.
Network Support
In addition supporting industry standard interfaces in ONEuP applications, all
core services are supported using a network interface. The ONEuP supports 10/100
Ethernet, IEEE 802.11 (Wi-Fi), gigabit Ethernet, FDDI, ATM and other standards
and protocols as required. Custom protocols may be supported using Linux drivers
developed for that protocol.
ONEuP Data
Services
The ONEuP provides access to application data using ONEuP Data Services
(ODS). The ODS interface provides access to system data, application
data and other data sources using standard TCP/IP sockets. This service
level allows users access to the system from program applications, other
Java applets and from applications running across a network. |
 |
Web Server
The ONEuP features an integral Web server which supports the
configuration and status software supplied with the unit. When contacted
by a browser, the ONEuP downloads all the necessary software to
configure, operate and monitor the unit with the browser. Our software
uses the Java Runtime environment (JRE), a browser plug-in. If the
querying browser not have the plug-in installed, the unit automatically
detects and provides the JRE plug-in.

 |
FTP Server
To support transport of archived files and other data to and from the unit, the
ONEuP provides an integral FTP server. Files may be transferred to and from the
unit over the network interface using standard ftp protocols.
Optional Data Services
SQL /ODBC
The ONEuP may be configured with an SQL server which allows compatibility with
commercial data analysis and presentation tools like (but not limited to) Matlab,
PV-Wave and office productivity tools like Excel.
OPC
The ONEuP may be configured with an OPC server which allows compatibility with
commercial process control and automation tools such as Labview and SCADA
compatible products. This extension allows seamless real-time access to data.
System Options
The ONEuP comes in many variants which are configured to meet your requirements.
